2. What is Pollution?
Pollution, we hear it every other day at school and read about it in newspapers and see it on the TV. So what is it? Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate the natural surroundings; which brings about changes that affect our normal lifestyles. Pollutants are the key elements of pollution which are generally waste materials of different forms. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem and the balance in the environment. With modernization and development in our lives pollution has reached its peak; giving rise to global warming and human illness.
Pollution occurs in different forms; air, water, soil, radioactive, noise, heat/ thermal and light.

3. Land pollution
Land can become polluted by household rubbish and by industrial waste. In 2010, Americans produced about 250 million tons (226.8 million kilograms) of rubbish, consisting of product packaging, grass clippings, furniture, clothing, bottles, food scraps, newspapers, appliances, paint and batteries. That's about 4.3 pounds (1.95 kg) of waste per person per day, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A little over half of the waste — 54 percent — is gathered in landfills. Only about 34 percent is recycled (which is about double the amount recycled in 1980, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers).

Oil is one of our fossil fuels. If this runs out there will be no more oil in the world

Giant holes are dug into the ground, and filled with trash.
But, every so often these holes will spill out to sea, and it has some devastating effects

7. Save our oceans! Stop this happening.
Next time you throw away a piece of paper, recycle it to save lives of fish and other animals in the ocean
Stop this happening.
If we don’t stop, we will run out of safe water to drink, someday water will run out.

Gas is bad for people who walk to the shops, school and work. Everyone on earth knows that air pollution is hazardous to health. The effects of air pollution can have devastating effects on our health and the environment. Air pollution is gradually causing so many deaths worldwide. One may even to fail to count the effects of air pollution and the striking figures floating around this environmental issue. Air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. It occurs when the air contains harmful amount of gases, dust, fumes and odour. The air can cause harm to our health and the worlds future with all of the gas and smoke in the atmosphere.

12. How does pollution affect us?
The toxic chemicals realised into the air settle into plants and water sources. Breathing polluted air puts you at a higher risk for asthma and other respiratory diseases. It doesn’t just effect us, it also affects animals. Global warming is also caused by pollution, it is heating up our planet!

13. Better energy solutions
Wind turbines are better to generate energy. Have you ever seen a wind turbine before? Why don’t we cut down on nuclear power plants and produce more wind turbines and solar panels. Do you think that electric cars don’t let out gas or have to waste coal and harm birds and animals? Well they do, when electric cars get made it has to get put together, but to put it all in place, you burn coal to use as fuel to power the machines which will set of bad pollution! So is the best solution to drive? Well I say walk to stop pollution. To solve pollution you can, recycle paper, cans, even martials to reduce rubbish. Remember to turn off light s, computers etc to save energy.
