The Event Divided into two parts. Part 1: Device Testing Part 2: Written Test over Thermodynamic concepts.
3
The Device Must fit in a 15 cm cube for C Must fit in a 20 cm cube for B No Foam, bubblewrap, commercial insulation. Must be easily able to insert and remove a 250 mL beaker. Important! Must have a 1.5 cm hole at the top for probe/thermometer.

The Device Advice Experiment early and often. Outlandish ideas sometimes are the best. Be the taskmaster. GET A COMPUTERIZED PROBE. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! http://www.soinc.org/thermodynamics_c http://www.scioly.org http://www.vernier.com/products/sensors/te mperature-sensors/go-temp/ http://www.vernier.com/products/sensors/te mperature-sensors/go-temp/ Don’t go for bonus points unless your sure!
5
The Test THE SAME TOPICS FOR B AND C!!! This event can get over a B division kids head quick! Focus on simpler math Memorize the Laws HAVE A GREAT BINDER! http://www.khanacademy.org/science/physic s/thermodynamics http://www.khanacademy.org/science/physic s/thermodynamics http://www.dummies.com/store/product/The rmodynamics-For-Dummies.productCd- 1118002911.html http://www.dummies.com/store/product/The rmodynamics-For-Dummies.productCd- 1118002911.html
