4. Infinitives They are used to express a purpose (why you are doing something) They answer the question why He came to study. Why did he come? He went to check his mail. Why did he go?

5. Infinitives are used after adjectives I am pleased to see you I am surprised to see you It is hard to learn French It is important to learn English

6. Infinitives are used after some question words how, what, where Can you show me how to do that? Can you tell me what to do? They are also used after something and nothing I have something to tell you. There is nothing to do
