Neolithic Revolution Neolithic Revolution: agricultural revolution, shift from hunting and gathering (nomads) to farming (permanent settlements) Farming provided a steady source of food, unlike hunting Early humans did not need to be nomads any longer because they did not need to constantly move for their food, it was stationary.

Neolithic Revolution Some groups practiced slash-and-burn farming in the beginning, where they cut trees/grasses and burned them to clear the land, the ashes fertilized the land Humans began to domesticate animals, or tame animals, such as horses, dogs, goats, etc Began to make enclosures for animals, easier to keep and domesticate them

Villages Grow and Prosper Humans began cultivating many different types of food in various areas of the world, especially in fertile river valleys The agricultural village of Catal Huyuk not only grew crops and domesticated animals, but they also had many highly skilled workers, such as potters and weavers.
