2
The keyword indexing capability of flexible. enterprise TM allows a user to index meta-data and data sections within a document or individual fields within a data record independently of each other.
3
Any keyword index created within flexible. enterprise TM can be searched using a search string, consisting of one or more keywords, operators, and parentheses pairs -- used for nesting logic. NOT OR AND + - ( ) weapons Iran “North Korea” nuclear
4
Keyword searching within flexible. enterprise TM supports the use of the basic unary operators “+” and “-”, as well as the unary operator “NOT”, the binary operators “AND” and “OR”, and nested parenthesis ( ( “North Korea” AND nuclear ) OR ( Iran AND nuclear ) ) AND NOT weapons ( ( “North Korea” OR Iran ) AND nuclear ) ) AND NOT weapons “North Korea” Iran +nuclear -weapons
5
The operators “NOT”, “AND”, and “OR” can be configured to use the appropriate words to match any language, or even to use special symbols such as “~”, “&” and “|”. Multiple configurations are possible. ( ( “North Korea” & nuclear ) | ( Iran & nuclear ) ) & ~ weapons ( ( “North Korea” O Iran ) Y nuclear ) ) Y NON weapons “North Korea” Iran +nuclear -weapons
6
Multiple indexes can be searched within flexible. enterprise TM and ANDed together to limit the results to produce a more accurate result set. Each index can be searched using a separate query string or using the same shared query string.
7
Multiple indexes can be searched within flexible. enterprise TM and ORed together to expand the results to produce a more complete result set. Each index can be searched using a separate query string or using the same shared query string.
8
Keyword indexes across different sections of the same document can be combined into a single index group within flexible. enterprise TM allowing the document to be searched in total as well as the sections to be searched independently. NOTE: By assigning the appropriate weighting values to individual indexes, searching the document index group produces a list of results that can be sorted by relevance.
9
Each keyword index within flexible. enterprise TM can be assigned its own translate table, which contains stop word, synonym, and homonym lists; and rules for root extraction used to process both original data and search strings.
10
By placing two separate indexes across the same data field or document section -- each with its own translate table, the user can be given the option to perform either an exact search or a less accurate, approximation search or to combine the two and sort by relevance. NOTE: By assigning a higher weighting value to Content Index 1, the search produces a list of results that can be sorted by relevance.
11
Keyword queries can be combined with numeric range, geo-spatial, timeline, and attribute queries within flexible. enterprise TM to accurately produce the desired result set. PRICE / MONTH MEGABITS / SEC UP TIME PRICE / MONTH MEGABITS / SEC
