Charlotte Rezoning Process For Conditional Rezoning Open House Forum Held 3 Weeks After Rezoning Submittal Hosted by the Planning Department Surrounding Property Owners Mailed Notice (Council District Rep Also Mailed Notice) Very Informal – Each Rezoning Applicant Has a Table To Meet the Public Held Between 5 and 6 PM (only 1 hour) Community Meeting Held Sometime After Application is Submitted Hosted by Each Applicant (Staff Does Not Attend) Applicant Sends Out Notice Letter After Meeting, Must Submit the Notice Letter, the Mailing List, a Sign-In Sheet, Minutes, and a List of Changes to the Application In Response to Concerns (Must Be Submitted 10 Days Prior To Initial Hearing) Joint Public Hearing (Council and Planning Commission) Council Can Recommend an Additional Community Meeting 1
