The Siberian tiger Siberian tigers are currently located in eastern Siberia. They used to be found from western Asia to eastern Russia. The tiger used to eat wild boar and the occasional deer. They may also feed on fish or small mammals.

Without this Tiger… Without the Siberian tiger, then the population of its prey, like the wild pig or the deer will start to increase. Also in the areas where wolves are also present, it will also decrease the wolf population since wolfs who live in tiger habitats scavenge tiger kills, decreasing its numbers. This means that the tiger is a necessary organism in its ecosystems and helps keep herbivores numbers in check and wolves something to eat after its fill.

“where’s my backup?” There are many parks all around the world that keep Siberian tigers habitats untainted by human hands. China currently has a tiger park that’s supposed to house the tigers gene pool. Thanks to this after it’s founding in 1986 it has started from 8 tigers and is to have increased the population all the way to 1000 Siberian tigers in the park.

Why they became endangered In the first place The tiger became endangered because the Russians back in the beginning of the 20 th century started killing tigers when they were trying to reclaim lands near the Caspian sea. After a while, they started a national park to protect rare species including the Siberian tiger, but did not help replenish its numbers. The tigers gradually retreated to the high mountains to escape death.
