2 Our Vision is of a nation that is free of barriers, where blind and visually impaired people are not discriminated against; enjoy the same rights and responsibilities, share equal opportunities and a quality of life that is available to their sighted peers.” Our mission is to provide education, training and employment opportunities within a caring environment thus empowering blind and visually impaired people to fully participate in society, whilst helping to promote the prevention of blindness.

6 Areas of Training Orientation and mobility Independent living skills Job skills Braille reading and typing Social and communication skills Massage, basketry skills and pastry Kitchen organization and cleanliness (pastry) Simple book-keeping and marketing methods Target Group Blind and visually impaired persons age 18 to 30 years old Objectives To enable visually impaired persons to acquire sufficient skills to find employment and to enhance their day to day life. To disseminate career information, provide career counselling, job search training and support. Vocational Training & Job Placement

7 Objectives To create access for the blind and visually impaired persons to information and resources by providing books, magazines, news and other reading material in accessible media. 8 Objectives To explore and introduce IT to the blind and visually impaired persons, as well as enhances personal development and motivation To increase skill levels of essential IT and computer use, and to improve job prospects and mobility Areas of Training Jaws (Screen reader) ICDL certified programmes - Foundation - Core - Advance - Specialised Communication - MSN Messenger, Skype Internet Explorer, Email HTML Development and Web accessibility Target Group Lower range school graduates Higher range working blind School Holiday program for youths Training on Information Technology

9 Target Group Visually impaired persons above the age of 55 years and unable to support themselves Areas of Care Food and lodging Medical and health needs Recreational facilities Objectives To provide care and support to visually impaired persons who are 55 years old and above with no family to care for them Senior Citizens Care
