4 Memorial Day (May 30) Why do we make it a holiday? Originally called Decoration Day In honor of those who died serving the nation during wars (the Civil War, the Vietnam War … ) Has been ignored by many Americans

5 Memorial Day (May 30) The way to celebrate the day: by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of the heroes by flying the US Flag at half-staff until noon

13 Taiwan Retrocession Day (Oct.25) Why do we make it a holiday? China was victory in the War of Resistance against Japan during WW2 Japan agreed to sign the Instrument of Surrender on Aug.15,1945, and return Taiwan back to China. Japanese rule officially ended on Oct.25, 1945

14 Constitution Day (Dec.25) Why do we make it a holiday? To remember the day of official enactment of constitution law The constitution of the ROC was passed on Dec. 25,1946, and implemented one year later
