The Functions of Blood Carries nutrients, water, oxygen and waste products to and from your body cells. Helps regulate temperature and water content. Delivers proteins so cells can repair or be replaced. Helps fight infections.

White Blood Cells They are different shapes and sizes depending on what they do – they are larger than red blood cells.

Particles in Blood Platelets are blood cells that help stop bleeding by making a blood clot or scab.

Liquid part of the Blood Plasma is the liquid part of the blood About half of your blood is made of plasma The plasma carries the blood cells throughout the body also the nutrients. Plasma is made in the liver.
