A Speck's Perspective Imagine you are a tiny speck and could enter into the painting on the next slide by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Place yourselves somewhere inside the painting. Jot down a few notes about what it is like inside the picture. TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!!! WE WILL DISCUSS ALOUD!!!!

Use all the senses: What do you see around you? ONE WORD If the environment were a feeling on your skin, what might that be? ONE WORD Is there a smell? ONE WORD A taste? ONE WORD If there were sound in that environment, what might it be like? ONE WORD

NOW….. ADD DESCRIPTIVE WORDS TO EACH OF YOUR SENSES (BEFORE & AFTER YOUR INITIAL WORD) SEE SEE FEEL FEEL SMELL SMELL TASTE TASTE SOUND SOUND

Now… write complete, complex descriptive sentences (with poetic flow) about what it feels like FOR YOU inside the painting. Make sure to incorporate Art History terminology regarding focal point/composition/subject matter/brush stroke style/contrast in color/lighting and it’s effect on the mood/etc.

Get together in a group and combine into a larger piece. Together you decide the order of your lines. We will have each group read allowed to the class while the rest of the class looks at the image.
