Also ITS has computer repair and cleaning done at “the Workshop” located behind the main Baylor Bookstore. Also there is a service called ResTech, currently used in the dorms to help with technology issues, that may be extended to Graduate Student Housing. Study carrels in Moody Library are in short supply Yeas ago Dean Orr instituted the use of lockers for graduate students to place their library resources in. There is a form online to go obtain one. http://tiny.cc/rxxc5 http://tiny.cc/rxxc5 Dean Orr cannot add additional carrels, because there isn’t enough space. There are two types of Carrels: Quiet Study Carrels and Day-Use Carrels. There was talk of tweeking the qualifications for obtaining a carrels, because right now the rules seem limiting to the people who really need them. The library committee could use a graduate representative. WebsenseLibrary Carrels

4 Ashley Palmer | a_palmer@baylor.edu Ms. Palmer came to find out what helps new teachers the most and opened the floor to discussion Understanding appropriate interactions with you students and how to respond correctly to their work. Many people feel that they are provided all the necessary teaching training in their respective departments. All else would be a drain on time. Core training could include some cross disciplinary ideas. Many departments have teaching mentors who are professors. But someone suggested that a graduate student mentor would be helpful as well.
