3 WACE EXAM REQUIREMENTS  WACE Examinations for Stage 3 Year 12 students enrolled in a pair of Stage 3 course units must sit the WACE examination in that course, unless exempt. Applications for exemption from Stage 3 WACE exams have now closed.  WACE Examinations for Stage 2 These exams are Optional, however, the achievement in the relevant Stage 2 courses will NOT count in the calculation of an ATAR. Application to opt out of Stage 2 WACE exams are now closed.

4 Consequence of not sitting scheduled WACE Exam If a student does not sit, or does not make a genuine attempt in their WACE examination, the grades attained for that pair of units completed in that year will not contribute to the calculation of the C grade average requirement, but still count in the Breadth and Depth requirement.

5 Application for Exam Exemptions are now closed. Students will complete the verification of enrolments of courses and WACE Exams this week in school. It is their responsibility to ensure that all details are correct and report any issues to Senior School Administration.

12 Authorised Materials in an Examination Candidates are advised of all special items authorised to be taken into an examination room in the booklet Year 12 Information Handbook 2015 made available online to all candidates in Term 2. Materials authorised for use in certain examinations include: graphics calculators (for mathematics and some science examinations); non-programmable calculators (for many examinations); two sheets of unfolded A4 paper (for mathematics examinations); dictionaries (for LOTE examinations).

13 Authorised Materials in an Examination It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that all materials in their possession in an examination room are authorised to be there. Candidates who are found in the possession of unauthorised material risk the cancellation of all or part of their examination paper whether or not actual use is established.

14 Sickness/Misadventure For circumstances beyond student’s control. For temporary sickness - non permanent disability. For sickness or misadventure occurring during or just prior to the exam. The candidate is responsible for gathering the evidence. Applications close 27 November. Forms available from the exam centre (contact Ms Martin). Decision is final - appeal available on the process only. If approved, higher of the raw exam mark and adjusted mark used.

WACE Examiners’ Reports – published on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website for downloading. Past WACE papers and sound recordings – purchase from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority. Good Answer Booklets and Sample Answer Booklets - purchase from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority. Private Providers advertise throughout the school year.
