13 Target: Increase the % of adults aged 45+ participating in sport and active recreation, by: Increasing ‘healthy walks’ programme Offer discounted swimming passes and ‘learn to swim’ lessons Promoting physical activity in the workplace Actions are co-ordinated by an LAA physical activity steering group (represented by local authorities, health, VCS) and targeted locally based on evidence.

14 The money 15 “Stretch” targets attracting a total of £30m if delivered 2009/10 Will be put back into partnership work ‘Pump Priming Grant’ allocated to support ‘stretch’

19 Scrutiny LAA can be bureaucratic We try to keep things smart and learn from others Governance and process is under review- and we know what needs doing We have common interest in securing improvements ‘on the ground’ Learning from lateral linkages and shared projects is ripe for ‘added value’ to inform ongoing partnership work
