Names Important note When naming nonmetal bonds prefixes are needed Also ending of last element is changed to “ide” in most cases Ex. Oxygen--Oxide Prefixes Mono, Di, Tri, Can you guess the others? Think about the different shapes in geometry Penta, Hexa, Hepta, Octa, Nona, Deca
