Here are some ideas to be better as an organization. Those ideas are… ideas and some of them are not complete. But I think it’s a good start for the beginning of a ‘reflection’… Comments are not welcome; they are mandatory…!

Structure We do things like ‘managing’ the FIS TDs in Canada’… Most of the times, we do it the proper way… We just need to formalize it… To do it even better

Structure We need a ‘charter’: To confirm who we are To confirm what we do To confirm where we go To confirm what we do not do With a Mission and objectives, it will be easier to focus on ‘the right things’…! Mission and Objectives

Structure And our mission should include ‘to train and produce the BEST TDs in the world’.

Structure We should have a different identity than our colleagues in the USA But we will continue to work closely together… But we have a different reality…

AGM Would be held at the FIS Update An annual report should be produced after the AGM The report should be presented to ACA and FIS

Strategic Plan Strategic Plan on a 3 years basis Every year, we should focus on a specific theme (according to the Stategic Plan) That theme should be the main line at the FIS TD Updates.

Financial Aspects Budget : Yes we NEED a budget Financial Statements ? No sure about those but could help for sure We need money, but how much ? Our budget will tell us… Then, let’s fetch subventions: ○ FIS ○ ACA ○ Others Why don’t we hire a subvention / bounty hunter ?

Replacement of the TD Commisionner Some day, we’ll have a new TD Commissionner… Do we want to have a : Elected TD Commisionner ? Designated TD Commisionner ? Can we ?

Replacement of the TD Commisionner Some ideas: 3 years mandate; 3 mandates maximum Must be perfect in English, functionnal in French Must have been a FIS TD since 5 years minimum Must be endorsed by 5 other FIS TDs No strings attached to PSO, NSO, others Candidates must produce in writing: ○ Description of who she/he is ○ Her/his vision ○ How she/he will implement it

Replacement of the TD Commisionner Some ideas: Voting by email 1 vote per active TD OR 1 vote per active year of TD ?!? OR 1 vote per every 5 years of TD ?!? Plan: ○ 10 days to receive the candidacies ○ 10 days to vote ○ 5 days to produce the results

Replacement of the TD Commisionner Some ideas: Why do we have to alternate between east and west for the commissionner ? Can we ‘elect’ a new commissionner ? OR It’s ACA / CSA that decides…?!? The new TD Commissionner should ‘shadow’ Ted during his last year before retirement.
