2. Who Runs This Place? The seat of Ashe County is Jefferson, North Carolina. The county seat was first established in 1799. It was first founded as Jeffersonton. Its mayor is Dana Tugamn.

3. Who On Earth Lives Here? Racial Demographics 97.16%- Whites 2.42%- Hispanic 1.05%- Other Races 0.66%- Black or African American 0.56%- 2 or more races 0.32%- Native American 0.23%-Asian 0.01%-Pacific Islanders There are 27,281 people currently living in Ashe County. Included in this figure are 10,411 households and 7,423 families who live here. Clearly this is enough people to stimulate the economy. There are approximately 427 sq. miles of land. So this is enough land to build businesses and create job opportunities.

4. What Am I Up Against? One major industry is the Christmas tree. Other major industries are the Ashe County Cheese, Elk Creek International, and Dr. Pepper bottling. As you can see, this county has a variety of major businesses. You can easily camouflage with the other businesses. For example, you could start a lumbering business of your own and make good money.
