What is the SAIL Project? The Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV) and the Alabama State Department of Human Resources (SDHR) formed a collaborative relationship to establish the Special Assessment Intervention Liaison (SAIL) Project. The SAIL Project provides, under contract, specific domestic violence assessments and services to clients meeting eligibility requirements.

What are the eligibility requirements? Client must be willing to participate in the project Must be a current or past victim of domestic violence

What are the eligibility requirements? Have income available to her that is less than 200% of the current Federal Poverty Level

What are the eligibility requirements? Recipients of Family Assistance, Food Stamps, and Medicaid for low income families automatically meet the income eligibility requirement

What are the eligibility requirements? Must have a minor child living at home or a child of 18 years old and still in high school

What are the eligibility requirements? Sign a release of information form for SAIL to share information with DHR that may affect the client’s eligibility for DHR benefits / services

The goal of the SAIL project Self sufficiency and reduce the number of Family Assistance and Food Stamp recipients by encouraging clients to seek and maintain employment.

Clients Served October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006—1587 clients were served. So far in this fiscal year we have served 1213 clients.
