Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 3 Agenda Antitrust Admonition Updates and Progress Special Topics –Engaging Remaining Resource Entities –Planning, Protection and SubSync Data Collection Reminders Q&A / Open Forum ERCOT asks that you log into the WebEx using your company name then your name. This will allow us to take roll call offline. If you have not logged in with your company name, please use the WebEx chat to tell the host your company is represented

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 4 Updates and Progress Status for the past week: –Continued to work with several RE’s via conference calls –Iteration 1 completed / Iteration 2 audit reports have been sent RE’s received an audit report if: –You have errors that still exists or new errors –You have warnings (no action required for warnings) –Note – those that did not turn in a RARF for iteration 1 did not receive a new audit report –Current PUN Transmission Production Quality Metric is at 89% Up from 86% last week RARF’s Received for Iteration 1 Deadline: 14 RARF’s Accepted for iteration 1 Deadline: 1 Those that were rejected had very minor issues Total RARF’s Accepted: 1 of 23 (several in the last stage of modification)

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 5 Updates and Progress Where are we at? Calls to RE’s will continue through iteration 2 (unless RARF is accepted) Iteration 2 started on time 4/6/09 Iteration 2 RARF’s are due by EOB 4/27/09 Continue to use nodalmarkettransition@ercot.com for questions or to request a conference call to review your audit reportnodalmarkettransition@ercot.com

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 6 Special Topics – Engaging Remaining Resource Entities ERCOT Will be Dividing the Remaining Resource Entities into 2 Submission Windows –Dividing into two windows allows ERCOT to spend more time assisting with MP registration issues –There is no change to the final RARF data collection end date (12/31/09) –These windows will include Planning, Protection and SubSync data Previously this was out of scope for the transmission data collection phase Completing this now will reduce the risk of completing at the end of the year as a separate process –ERCOT will ask RE’s to request inclusion into Window 1 or Window 2 at the next Friday Update Call. –As slots fill, ERCOT will make every effort to honor requests, but may have to change it based on capacity

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 7 Special Topics – Engaging Remaining Resource Entities Window 1 –Begins June 1 ending on Sept. 1 –This will be available to all technologies except Wind –Wind resources will be addressed during Window 2 WOTF are reviewing potential changes to wind registration data ERCOT will address Wind Resources once these changes have been solidified Window 2 –Begins Sept 1 ending on Nov. 1 –All Wind Resources will be in this iteration –There will be capacity for other resource types, but more limited than Window 1 ERCOT will host a market kick off meeting for both windows –Window 1 kick off meeting is currently targeted for the 5/22/09 –Kick off will take the place of that week’s market call Market calls will continue to be hosted by ERCOT on a bi-weekly basis through the end of Window 2

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 8 Special Topics – Planning, Protection and SubSync Data Collection Planning, Protection and SubSync Data is the last of the RARF data collection categories Originally schedule for late 2009, it will be rolled into the transmission data collection process –For Private Use Networks that have already completed the transmission data collection, they will have the option of providing the planning, protection and subsync data in either Window 1 or Window 2 ERCOT is reviewing the supporting tabs in the RARF and ensuring all data requested aligns with base system requirements –RE’s should contact nodalmarkettransition@ercot.com prior to starting these to ensure they are working off of the most recent version of these formsnodalmarkettransition@ercot.com Business rules will be completed for these tabs by mid-may and tested through the remainder of the month These will then align with the previously mentioned Windows for transmission data collection

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 9 Q&A Q&A / Open Forum

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 10 Q&A Appendix

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 11 Reminders Originally Presented on 3/13/09 ERCOT has published a revised RARF guide –The revised RARF guide contains all the business rules for transmission assets –The URL where this can be located is: http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/rq/documents/index.html http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/rq/documents/index.html –Document title: EDS - Resource Registration Guide v4.2 Scope of Transmission Data Assets (high level lists) –Lines –Breakers and Switches –Capacitors and Reactors –Transformers –Static Var Compensators –Series Devices –Loads –* PUN Load 168 hr Profiles *note that accepted PUN Load 168 hr Profiles will be added to the RARF upon re-submittal Those that still have issues with the PUN 168 profile form, ERCOT will work with you to correct on the conference with your account manager Out of Scope for this phase –Protection –SubSync –Planning

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 12 Reminders Originally Presented on 3/13/09 Clarifying statements on which assets need to be registered / modeled Note: This is specific to PUN’s. Specifics on other resource entities will be addressed on a later call –All assets which are between a generator and the point of interconnect to ERCOT –All Load Loads which are connected on a Bus greater than or equal to 60kV need to be modeled individually Loads connected at less than 60kV may be aggregated into an “equivalent load” at the 69kV Bus Auxiliary and Site Service Load may be combined Note: Auxiliary load is defined as that which is only present when the generator is running –In some cases it will be necessary for ERCOT and the Private Network to review specific assets and/or sites to make a determination on whether or not it is required to be registered / modeled These cases will be addressed during a WebEx coordinated by the RE’s Account Manager

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 13 Special Topics Originally Presented on 3/13/09 Issues Encountered on initial audit report group –Found that some validations were too “tight.” These have been relaxed Will be discussed on the conference call with your Account Manager if applicable to your audit report Example high / low side manufactured voltage on transformers was asking for levels at exactly 69,138 or 345 – it now allows up to 9% deviation from these levels (warns > 5%) –Data Pre-population issues Size of each step on transformer high/low tap settings calculated incorrectly –ERCOT will calculate this based on data provided by RE –This will be ignored if in error on the audit report Transformer Reactance / Resistance incorrectly calculated –ERCOT will provide correction to RE’s for first iteration 1 submittal Loads missing on Load tab –In cases where PUN’s have multiple substations under a site code, those substations that are not the same mnemonic as the site code did not populate the Load data. ERCOT will send the additional Loads left off
