Facts The Challenger was launched on January 28 th 1986 There was 7 people on the mission, Mike Smith, Ron McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Christa McAuliffe, Gregory Jarvis and Dick Scobee. The Challenger blew up 73.62 seconds after lift off.

More Facts… The Challenger had been into space 9 times before the accident. 3 of the crew members were on the Challenger on one of it’s earlier flights. The Challenger was delayed 3 times before take off. In 1986 there was a total of 15 flights that were planned.

Even more facts…. The major reason for the accident was a Rubber O-ring. It was launched from Pad 39-B Which was originally designed to support the Apollo program. She wanted to go to the moon to so she can teach her students about it and to teach everyone to be brave.
