5 “ Job ” A profession or occupation E.g. She has a job as a waitress A lots of people will lose their jobs if the company closes. A task or a piece of work E.g. The garage has done a bad job on our car. I always have a lots of jobs to do in the house at weekend. A duty or responsibility E.g. It is not his job to tell us what we can and can't do.

8 “Work” The place where you do your job E.g. I’ll ask if I can leave work early tonight. Sth that requires physical or mental effort that you do to achieve sth E.g. Her success is due to sheer hard work. Something that you are working on or have produced. E.g. Is this all your own work? E.g. The teacher marks their work.

14 To provide a service E.g. Do you do eye tests here? To study sth or find the answer to sth. E.g. I can’t do the answer 3. To travel a certain distance or at a certain speed. E.g. I normally do about 5 miles when I go running To have a particular effect. E.g. The storm did a lot of damage
