NPD: Data Update School Census –Now includes 3 2008 termly censuses (Jan, May and October) –2008 Census includes service children in education indicator –2 term and 3 term extracts of 2007/08 absence data now available from school census –3 term extracts of 2006/07 exclusion data now available from school census Post-16 Learning Aims; –2007/08 data collected through school census (October and May) –Allowing the calculation of participation and retention rates Higher Education Data –HESA data for 18 & 19 yr olds in 2006/07 now included

4. NPD: Data Update New indicators included for 2008: –KS4 A*-B in 2 or more science GCSEs Achieved at least 1 vocational qualification at KS4 Achieved at least 2 BTEC National Diplomas at KS4 –KS2/KS3 L4+ at KS2 in both English and Maths L5+ at KS3 in both English and Maths

5. NPD: Data Update New indicators consultation for 2009: –We will be consulting PLUG users again in 2009 for any requirements for new indicators –Information will be posted on the PLUG website early next year –Please respond if you have any requirements for additional indicators or derived variables

6. NPD: Data Update User Guides –These are being updated for 2008 and will be included on the PLUG website in time with the release of 2008 data for each key stage –The KS1 guide is available now and will appear on the PLUG website shortly –We would be pleased to receive feedback on their usefulness and suggestions for any additional information for inclusion –In future the user guides will be updated annually to keep abreast of changes in the data from year to year

7. NPD: Data Update KS2 and KS3 2008 data –KS2 and KS3 data for 2008 will not be available until next year. We have no firm timetable for its release as yet.
