Learning to: do a 20 minute piece of imaginative letter writing imagining we are on DEATH ROW  Success Criteria: I can produce a piece of writing which shows I understand the death row experience  I can show the emotions the death row inmates feel  I can describe the sights and sounds of death row  I can express the thought the death row inmates might be feeling.

5. Death Row  You will notice that the young man on death row wrote a letter.  This is what your activity today is- writing a letter to a loved one saying goodbye.

6. SEEING FOR YOURSELF  You will now see some images from death row. These will help you imagine what it is like.

Now …….You have twenty mins  You must write a letter to a loved one at home to let them know how and when you are going to die.  Say whether you want them to attend your death or not  You must either confess to your crime or deny it.  You must describe your living conditions and cell  Say how you are treated  What you are feeling  Say any regrets you have  Say if you would do things differently  You can also tell them your death row meal and whether you intend to eat it or not.  Lastly tell them about what you will miss/not miss about them
