September 2006SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises 2 Indicator 1.2 A total number of 45 Skills Development Facilitators were trained nationally. Indicator 2.1 A total number of 58 larger firms and 72 medium firms received skills development grants. Indicator 2.2 A total number of 512 small levy paying firms received skills development grants. Indicator 2.8 2,057 Workers were assisted to enter programmes for the 05/06 financial year. Labour Progress Report NSDS

Indicator 4.1 A total number of 1,874 unemployed people were assisted to enter programmes for the 05/06 financial year. Of the 1,874 learners 464 are NSF learners and the remaining 1,267 are unemployed people who entered programmes. Indicator 5.1 1 Institute of Sectoral or Occupational Excellence (ISOE) was recognised and supported for the 05/06 financial year. Labour Progress Report NSDS

September 2006SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises 11 The HWSETA offered Ancillary Health Care NQF level 1 learnerships through two FET colleges. 1.King Sabata Dalindyebo College (Eastern Cape): 50 learners. 2.Khathu College (Northern Cape): 25 learners Labour Progress Report on FETs

September 2006SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises 12 In the year 2006/07, the HWSETA has invited FET colleges located in KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape to apply for recognition as Institutes of Sectoral or Occupational Excellence (ISOE). The HWSETA is to go on a drive to encourage FETs to offer its qualifications and learnerships. FETs are also to be invited to apply for accreditation as New Venture Creation Training Providers in order to serve as a conduit for NVC training. This training is to be funded by the HWSETA. September 2006SETA Report to Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprises 13 Workshops will be conducted in the provinces not partaking in learnerships. We are currently in consultation with SAQA for the generation of a Traditional Healers and Hearing Aid Technician qualifications. Once registered these qualifications will be offered as learnerships (this process will only be concluded in 2007). Implementation of learnerships will be firstly focused in those provinces where no learnerships were implemented. Consultation sessions will be set up with the DGs of the provinces to initiate project plans. Labour Future Plans for Organisation
