Mission, Belief, and Vision Program Goal The counseling program we have created here at Escuela Unida aims to bring unification between the students, parents, community, teachers, administration, and staff. Through collaboration and innovation, each child will earn an opportunity to empower themselves and acquire the necessary skills needed to take huge strides forward in their academic, social/personal, and career endeavors. Counselor Role Much of our success is built on the American School Counselor Associations model. Escuela Unida utilizes the ASCA model when developing all programs and curriculums, which also clearly and perfectly defines what our role is: “Today’s school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, persona/social development and career development, ensuring today’s students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.”

Administration, Teachers, Counselors, and Staff strive to focus on upholding multicultural values in the school environment. Our mission is to inform, educate, and guide our students to participate in community outreach to lead successful lives. Counseling Beliefs Collaboration between schools, families, and community to enhance student achievement through maintaining dignity, culture, and social emotional needs of every student. Educators will establish a safe environment that facilitates growth through the use of professional development activities and use of data in various assessments to show effectiveness of the program. Counseling Vision Empower students to meet high academic standards, lead ethical lives, and demonstrate responsible citizenship.

Classroom Guidance Our Objectives Escuela Unida creates a variety of innovative lesson plans that provide our students with an opportunity to acquire the required skills needed for test score improvements. For example, one lesson plan may focus on providing practice for the MRA (Math Reasoning Assessment, which aligns with the goals of Escuela Unida to increase assessment scores. Escuela Unida places a strong emphasis on its value towards improving the academic success of our students. For example, we encourage our students to track their own success, which in turn will help them learn goal setting while providing data to track the progress of our school. In Escuela Unida, many cultures and backgrounds are represented and it is a part of our Mission Statement to recognize and appreciate our school’s diversity.
