3 Developing Countries A nation with a low level of material well being Examples: Ghana, Rwanda, Ethiopia Characteristics:  High Birth Rates  Poverty  Can’t satisfy basic needs  Can’t produce enough jobs 80% of illness in developing countries is linked to poor water

4 Developed Countries A country that allows all of its citizens to enjoy a free and healthy life in a safe environment Examples: United States, Canada, Germany, Norway

5 Public Health Differences of Developing vs. Developed Countries Sanitation Clean / not clean air and water Life Spans / Life Expectancy Diseases Income / Money Housing Education Peace or war Healthcare system Access to healthy foods Transportation Weather/Natural Disasters Why are these Public Health issues??
