2. Overview of National RTAP Our mission is to improve the mobility of rural, small urban and tribal communities with populations under 50,000. Program founders recognized that transit drivers, dispatchers, maintenance workers, managers, and board members needed special skills and knowledge to provide quality service to their diverse customers across large service areas.

3. Overview of National RTAP Provides Technical Assistance: Surveys & Reports Best Practices Research Scholarships Resource Center Peer Network

4. National RTAP Review Board Guides and informs the work of National RTAP. Composed of local operators and state departments of transportation representatives. The Board provides in-depth expertise and local perspectives to ensure that products and services are of the highest quality, easily accessible and useable by local transit operators.

5. Plans for 2009 Continue the outreach and information delivery through the Resource Center. Create a virtual community for RTAP using online message boards and webinars for State managers, various committees, peers and the overall rural transportation community. Transit

7. Plans for 2009 Conduct significant outreach to State RTAP managers—the first step was a survey. Re-establish a national dialogue regarding the impact of RTAP materials by implementing an aggressive outcome and measurement model.

9. Plans for 2009 That recommendation is currently with the FTA and should receive clearance by the end of 2008 The National RTAP Review Board has recommended that a 12 th spot be added to include a consistent and dedicated Tribal Transit voice

10. Plans for 2009 It is the hope of the Board that TTAP will coordinate with National RTAP during the Nomination Process, to solicit and identify candidates to serve as both a 12 th member and for other openings on the Board
