Table Saw Safety & Operation The Table Saw is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment but must be operated safely and correctly. Follow these safety rules and operation instructions.

Pre-operation Safety Before operating, check the saw over making sure that the fence is operating properly and it is square to the blade.

Pre-operation Safety The saw is equipped with a blade guard, use this whenever possible.

Pre-operation Safety Be certain the blade is sharp and the correct one for your work.

Pre-operation Safety Set the blade so that it extends about ¼ in. above the material to be cut.

Pre-operation Safety Check and make any necessary adjustments using the control wheels located on the saw.

Operation Safety Stand to one side of the operating blade and never reach across it.

Operation Safety The position of the stock must be controlled by either the fence or a miter gauge. NEVER CUT STOCK FREE HAND.

Operation Safety MAINTAIN A 4 in. SAFETY MARGIN Use push sticks to avoid putting your hands close to the blade.

Operation Safety Stop the saw before making adjustments to the blade or fence. Use the foot stop switch to avoid reaching across the path of the blade.

Final Safety Points Always wear safety glasses or shield. Stock should be surfaced and at least one edge jointed before being cut. Do not let scrap accumulate around the saw blade. Use a push stick to remove. Always keep your eyes on your work, do not be distracted.
