10 The number of employees in May 2008 The CSB has 632 positions, which are divided by statue  civil servants - 249  contracted employees – 383, of which interviewers -71 24 employees perform functions of technical personnel and 11 employees are engaged for the time of implementing foreign projects About 26% of employees work in regions Statistics of Latvia 2008

11 The National Programme of Statistical Information includes all official statistical information and it formulates:  contents of the statistical information  data source  periodicity  the method of obtaining aggregated data  available aggregates of statistical data production Statistics of Latvia 2008

12 Process of working out the National Programme of Statistical Information The following steps (rounds): preliminary inquiry on the possible changes, additions:  data producers (other government institutions)  main data users  social partners draft Programme to be discussed in the public, which is prepared to be submitted for the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers approved in the Cabinet of Ministers annually in October-November Statistics of Latvia 2008

13 Activities in the field of human resources management (strategy of human resources development) Regular assessment of the results of employees’ work Finding out and planning of training needs Regular informative workshops for new employees (at least twice a year) Regular satisfaction surveys of employees Description of competences enumerating professional and personal skills necessary for the performance of one’s professional duties Statistics of Latvia 2008
