Record the following information in your journal Classical Republicanism Three aspects of Classical Republicanism influential to the founding generation were: 1.Small Uniform Communities: Early American communities relied on one another to work together to overcome obstacles. 2.Citizenship and Civic Virtue: emphasized the importance of the citizen putting aside personal interests to promote the common good. Duties over Rights 3.Moral Education: included instruction in the “civil religion”-the symbols, rituals, and values of the society, as well as the proper habits, generosity, self control, respect, fairness, and courage.
