When she was two, she was very sick. Then she became blind and deaf.

In 1887, she met her teacher, Anne Sullivan. Anne was a patient teacher.

"Helen Keller In Her Story" 1954 Helen was good at writing too. She wrote many books. The most famous one is The Story of My Life.

Helen passed away in 1968. Today, people all over the world still admire her for what she did.

Some strategies to help you communicate with a Deaf person: Let the Deaf person know you can sign Let the Deaf person set the communication pattern to be used Avoid talking (voicing) in the presence of a Deaf person without signing While watching another person sign, it is appropriate to focus on the signers face Avoid “eyedropping” on other people signing
