3 Review Count the ד Dalets.

4 Review - ד Count the ד Dalets. Did you see five?

5 Review - ב Count the ב Bets.

6 Review - ב Count the ב Bets. Did you see six?

7 Review - ר Count the ר Reshes.

8 Review - ר Count the ר Reshes. Did you see Five?

9 ה Hey - breath ה Hey - breath Look for the break in the left leg of Hey

10 Review - ה Count the ה Heys.

11 Review - ה Count the ה Heys. Did you see seven?

12 Review - ה Did you count these as ה Heys. Notice the leg on the left connects to the top of the letter.

13 Can you read the word in the red box?

14 If you guessed da-ber you are correct.

15 א Alef – G-d It takes three pin marks to make an Alef. Without all three strokes of the pin it would not be an Alef. If you remove any of the primary expressions of G-d he would no longer be G-d. Like G-d, Alef does not make any sound. The attached vowel is free to express itself without much influence.

16 ל Lamed - study Lamed sounds like L It will carry you from the earth line to the highest heavens. It pictures our emotions.

17 מ Mem – water or kingdom Mem sounds like M The bottom is a strait line. The lower right corner is square. There is a break at the lower left corner. It pictures our intellect. The first letter of מח Mach - brain

18 More Vowels Since Alef has no sound of its own we will use it to show examples of how vowels work. Petach – A as in father Covered this last lesson. Chamatz – O as in ox more of a long “A” sound. Holom – O as in open Hirik – EE as in feet

19 More Vowels Shiva – Silent or short E Sereh – E as in fether or EY as in Grey Segol – E as in egg

20 Try Reading some Words left center right Line 1: be-mid-bar | el | Da-ber Line 2: Be-o-hel Line 4: Le-mor
