MASAI BACKGROUND Out of the 42 tribes, the Masai are one the most well known in Kenya Most of the community herd indigenous cows Masai men, known as Morans, wander in search of green pastures for their herds.

WHY SHOULD WE HELP? Most children in Kenya don’t have any education The school that you can help build will not only provide an education, but at least 1 meal for starving children Kenyan children’s parents feed them, and house them now. But in the children’s adulthood, without an education, what will they do them?
4
WOMAN AND CHILDREN The women, who occupy a submissive role on Masai culture, remain in settlements known as manyattas to raise the children Women are encouraged to, and usually do, give birth to a child each year While the men are away, the woman and children are often left alone to face serious difficulties Young Masai girls
5
EDUCATION Education is often and the best and most expedient path toward improvement Getting to school in Eluaai is a problem. For most people, the nearest school is at least an 8 km walk away Most Masai children don’t go to school until the age of 11 or 12, and few even continue school up to 8 th grade
6
EDUCATION Most children are sent home from school from a lack of books or uniforms Girls are at an even further disadvantage. A Masai girl must complete a number of chores before beginning the trek to school The boys are given first priority in the purchase of books and uniforms
