3. Progress Highlights X-ray imaging crystal spectrometer is ready to ship to LHD. PPPL team will visit in April to install. The reconstruction tool for LHD is on schedule. Reconstructions using STELLOPT-VMEC are in progress. Detailed CAD models for W7-X trim coils have been developed. Analysis and fabrication planning are in progress. Responsibility for the supports reverts to IPP. W7-X physics collaboration plans have crystallized. 4. Stellarator Budget Planning We have received preliminary guidance to plan on flat funding for the LHD and W7-X collaborations in FY-12. –Under the circumstances, this is positive! But, subject to change due to the extreme volatility in the Government budget process. Stellarator funds carried over from FY-10 will be exhausted in FY-11; we will have less to spend next year. Impacts not yet clear. In lieu of the usual FES budget planning meeting, FES will meet with labs individually to discuss budgets. PPPL is scheduled for April 11.
