Pros ~increase excersize among people ~ travel industry would be boosted in cold areas ~ heat sensitive energy generators would be made possible ~more home runs would be hit due to increase moisture in the air Cons ~heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather ~ Ocean warming, sea level rise and costal flooding ~glaciers melting/mass flooding ~plant and animal range shifts and population changes ~more cancer from increased intensity of sun rays ~decrease in fresh water sources ~crops will be destroyed

The Greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature that the earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy from the sun. With out these gases heat would escape back into space and earth’s average temperature would be 60 degrees F colder. These gases are referred as the greenhouse gases. This is how the greenhouse effect keeps the earth’s temperature reasonability constant and maintains a life-nurturing balancing of heat and energy. A build-up of greenhouse gases may be trapping to much of the sun’s energy and overheating the planet.

Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth’s temperature, which causes a change in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impact on plants, wildlife, and humans.

 Natural gases-mostly carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide  Pollution-carbon dioxide and other gases trapped in the atmosphere ~Coal-burning and automobiles are the main sources of CO 2  Overpopulation causes more energy to be used

Ashley~In my opinion, global warming is a serious issue. If something isn’t done immediately, the greenhouse effect will cause the world to literally melt and global warming will go into effect. Programs out there, such as the EPA or NRDC, urge people to conserve energy by taking simple steps. For example, choosing a compact fluorescent light bulb aver an incandescent bulb will keep over 700 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air. I think that people should take precaution in saving energy to lower the amount of greenhouse gases that are trapped in the atmosphere. Erin~ In my opinion, global warming is not good for the earth because then there would be too much gases and they would be heating up. This is not good because everything would melt if it happened. Jenny- Global Warming can cause death to animals and less growth of plants making it hard to survive for both animals and humans.Sam~ The harmful rays of the sun can make life on earth disapear.
