Creating Pivot Tables Drag and Drop is Great! Click the Pivot Table Tools, Options tab, click Options, the Display tab, and Check the “Classic Pivot Table Layout” box. Press OK.

Practice Exam Questions Using “Excel is Fun” Data Create a pivot table to show the total number of sales (not dollar value, but number of sales transactions) to each customer in each region. Label the sheet Customer/Region. Create a pivot table to show total sales (in $) by customer (simpler than the first one). Label the sheet Sales. Create formulas to find the top 3 customers (use the pivot table results) Create a Pivot Table to show total sales to customers by the first letter of their name (i.e. total sales for all customers with names beginning with S). Hint – you will have to add a column in your database before creating this Pivot Table. Create a new sheet with a data entry area where the user can type in the first letter of the customer name and it will display the total sales for customers with that first letter to their customer name. Do NOT use a VLOOKUP or PivotTable. Make sure you provide labels for the cells so the user can figure out what they are doing.

Exam Questions Using the Pivot Table Toolkit Data 1.Start on the Golf Shop Data Sheet. Create a pivot on a sheet named “Square Footage” to determine the average number of purchases based on the store square footage designations. 2.Start on the Golf Shop Data Sheet. Create a pivot table on a sheet named “Store Type” to determine the total dollars purchased for pro shops versus retail stores, by region. 3.Start on the Golf Shop Data Sheet. Create a new sheet named “Input” where an individual can type in the customer ID into a cell and the total dollars purchased and number of purchases will appear in adjacent cells. 4.On the same sheet, create an area where the individual can enter a value for the region, and they can see how many customers are in that region. Instead of the output just being a value, have the output cell say “There are xx customers in the XYZ region”. All of this should be displayed in the SAME CELL. 5.On the same sheet, create an area where it will display the number of purchases for the customer with the highest number of purchases, the second highest number of purchases and third highest number of purchases. You do not need to display the customer number associated with this purchase amount. 6.Go to the Relative Cell References Sheet. Using the FV function (use the wizard if needed to understand it), complete the cells highlighted in pink. Make it so that that the assumed interest rate can be entered into the yellow cell. Assume that amounts are invested yearly and that the interest rate is a yearly rate.
