Symbiotic Relationships (pg. 62) Symbiosis- is a close, long-term association between two or more species. Divided into 3 groups. 1.Mutualism 2.Commensalism 3.Parasitism Can you see the Symbiotic Relationship?

Mutualism Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship where both organisms benefit. Examples: Human intestine and bacteria Algae and coral

Commensalism Commensalism is the symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is unaffected. Example: Shark and Remoras

Parasitism Parasitism is the symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is harmed. Example: Tick- outside Tapeworm- inside a human Wasp and Caterpillar

Why do most parasites not kill their host? Without the host the parasite would die.
