2 Screwworm Is the screwworm even a worm? No it actually is not even a worm it’s a type of fly. How does this screwworm find a host? It searches for exposed flesh on an animal or human. What happens if I find screwworms inside of me? Contact a physician immediately. What is a sign of screwworms? A blood tinged fluid with a distinct odor may seep from the wound. If a dog is infested how long does it have to live? 7 to 14 days

3 Interesting facts It can lay more than 200 eggs in a single host When they get bigger they have to eat the living tissue of the host It can consume a dog in and out in 5 to 7 days
