9. ICT Investment planning tool (TCO) What is the planner designed to do? Can show full cost of ownership of ICT over several years Allows you to model different investment strategies Simple tool - easy/quick to use and maintain Can be tailored to suit local needs What doesn’t it do? It is not a rigorous financial model – the costs are intended to be indicative It doesn’t allow for reductions in ICT provision -it assumes provision will remain the same or increase
