What is Outdoor Learning? Outdoor Learning: – offers children experiences not easily achieved indoors – Provides sensory stimuli – Leads to greater levels of creativity and understanding – Allows children to develop skills, knowledge and understanding without the constraints of a classroom

At Long Crendon School we have extensive grounds rich in habitats, woodland environments and wildlife Areas we use include: – Pond – Allotments – Woodland walk Why do Outdoor Learning?

What do the children gain from Outdoor Learning? – have a hands-on approach – develop confidence, self-awareness and life skills – learn new facts, ideas and concepts about the environment and the world in which they live – grow and become more independent, motivated and willing to learn – play, explore and investigate

Don’t take our word for it… look at what the children can achieve when given the freedom of being outdoors
