2  Already Ready Book Study -Nurturing Writers in Preschool (Building and Understanding and Teaching Practices that support it)  Review of CCSS writing and listening/speaking standards  Writing in Science- research and inquiry  Creating science lessons aligned to CCSS

3  Collection of fundamental understandings about the writing development of young children  Teaching practices that nurture young writers (read aloud, side by side teaching, and share time)  Meet the Author and Illustrator (3 and 4 year old student samples)  Examining both the thinking and the writing (artifacts) in depth.

5  With prompting and support, use a combination of drawing, dictating or writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about to supply some information about the topic.  Participate in shared research and writing projects.  With guidance and support, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.

7 With guidance and support, ask and answer questions in order to seek help, get information, or clarify something that is not understood. Add drawings or other visual displays to descriptions as desired to provide additional detail.
