Introduction This presentation will illustrate the benefits yoga has on one’s health. We will mostly concentrate on what yoga does for the mental aspect and the physical aspect of a person.

What is Yoga? Started in India A system of exercises practiced to promote control of the body and mind.

Mental Aspect Meditation: The biggest contributor in yoga that allows you to calm your mind Concentrate on your inner self Forces you to clear your mind Breath and stay Zen

Mental Aspect Cont. Yoga allows you to become calm and composed By slowly breathing and quieting the busy world around you makes your mind become aware of your thoughts and slowly releasing them.

Mental Aspect Cont. Said to reduce students’ anxiety levels and increase self-esteem levels Realizing/become aware of your self-doubt changes your mood Allows time for yourself to gain appreciation of your life and your current situation

Physical Aspect Asana: The poses that you will experience in a yoga session.

Physical Aspect each class is planned out to work certain body parts. Your body feels rejuvenated and loose after a session of yoga. Said to have a 35% improvement in flexibility after only eight weeks of yoga Great for aging bodies, will decrease in aches and pains.

Conclusion If you are someone who is searching for a solution to a medical problem, but don’t want to be medicated by a doctor; try yoga. The only way to find out if yoga is beneficial to you is by taking a class, and seeing for yourself.
