Theological & Psychological Teachings 1. Paradigms (what you believe) powers perception and your perception powers your emotions. 2. Religion is about having the “right answers” (all can’t be right). Negative of Idealism They sometimes get so caught up in the possibilities of what could be that they seem unconcerned about the ideas and feelings of others.

2. OPTIMISM Sees the good and/or positive side of reality FIRST. They will focus on the negative aspects as well as the positive. However, they look at the advantages before the drawbacks

3. REALISM The realist is someone who sees things as they are and tells it like it is.

4. PESSIMISM One who sees the bad and/or negative side of reality first.

POSITIVE of Pessimism If something is wrong or lacking the pessimist will be the first to notice. –This can save a lot of time in the long-run.

NEGATIVE of Pessimism Can be dreary people to be around People get tired of always having to point out the positive.

5. CYNICISM One who only sees the negative side of reality. The opposite of an idealist. Nothing has ever gone just right or ever will go just right. For the cynic- There is no such thing as love A happy marriage does not exist
