What is Psychology 3570? 3 credit practicum course Takes place in the Autistic Impaired Preschool at Croyden Avenue School Counts towards your Psychology Major Either as your practicum requirementEither as your practicum requirement Or possibly as an elective (if you’ve already completed a practicum)Or possibly as an elective (if you’ve already completed a practicum)

Croyden Practicum Hours Monday - Friday 2 hours a day (register for one of the shifts below)2 hours a day (register for one of the shifts below) –8:30-10:30 –10:30-12:30 –12:30-2:30 Seminar every Wednesday from 6 - 8Seminar every Wednesday from 6 - 8

What behaviors do these children have? High level of maladaptive behaviors TantrumsTantrums Self stimulationSelf stimulation –Hand flapping –Toe walking –Teeth grinding Low level of adaptive behaviors No eye contact Minimal social interactions Speech that is not functional

Why should I take this practicum? You would be helping to make a difference in a child’s life, as well as the lives of their family members Early intervention is essential for children with autismEarly intervention is essential for children with autism You’ll get to work with really fun kids You’ll get to apply all the stuff you’ve been learning about in class You’ll get a very hands on experience that looks great on a resume You’ll have a lot of fun!

What do I have to do to sign up? We require all students to take the Pre- Practicum prior to taking the Croyden Basic Practicum Please see Blake for more details Sign up online PSY 3570 Through Extended Universities
