Cellix Products and expertise Experience in... Microfluidic pumping solutions: patented syringe pumps with pulseless flow; pressure pumps; positive displacement; recirculation etc. Microfluidic biochips with robust macro-to-micro connections; 2D and 3D designs; embedded membranes and electrodes; integration of sensors on- chip; consideration of sample handling/mixing/dilution etc. Development of cell-based assays...has placed us in a unique position to offer integration services to our customers.

Example OEM Projects: Commercial outputs from FP7 Customer:Multinational company, revenues of ~ €115M in 2013 Sector:Clinical diagnostics Aim:Develop next generation analyzers for POC market. Purpose: Integrating client’s proven biological immunoassays into microfluidic chip format. Working with them on the development of the microfluidic liquid handling and sample handling automation for their next generation analyzers for POC market. Deal type:R&D contract with heads of terms on exclusive OEM supply agreement. Deal value:Not disclosed Sensor area integration on-chip: Microfluidic liquid handling & protocol development: Tested in client’s existing analyzers for signal read-out (jig for chips 3D printed for simple proof-of-concept tests)

Purpose: Integrating improved impedance spectroscopy methods on-chip to characterize small differences in cellular content. Deal type:R&D contract with heads of terms on licensing agreement. Collaborating with SMEs – some advice Don’t ask them because you need an SME involved – ask them because you need their expertise. We don’t want to be a “token” SME in a proposal. Review the SME website but be aware that this may not reveal all... Don’t expect the SME to write the proposal for you. Approach them early – at least 3 months before the submission deadline. Remember, SMEs are in business to make a profit – they will always look for the commercial output from a grant.
