7. + This is Danny. Danny works as a cabana boy at the beach. Danny is very helpful and friendly. He sets up the chairs and umbrellas for the guests on the beach. I’m glad that he works there because he makes my time there fun.

14. + The Inwood Beach Club By: Melissa Weinstein At the Inwood Beach Club you can do anything you want. There is no traffic to hear or honking horns. It’s a short get away from the busy city. One reason why it is a great place to relax is because there are activities at the beach that are not available to do in the city. For example, playing tetherball. Ryder and Jerrold (who you see in the picture playing tetherball) both live in Manhattan. Ryder is 10 and lives in Tribeca and Jerrold lives on the Upper East Side. Tetherball is not available in any of these places. Also, where else can you get away and relax on the beach in only 40 minutes. It feels like you are a plane ride away from NYC! The beach is a great place to relax for everyone. Danny (pictured earlier)is a cabana boy. He said he likes working at the beach because of “the relaxed and family oriented atmosphere.” Eden, an 11 year old girl from Brooklyn, whose family has belonged to the beach for 5 years, loves coming during the weekends. “I’m mostly happy here because it’s really fun and I get to play with my friends.” Even young kids loves the beach club! Ari, a 6 year old (who is Eden’s sister), says that with her friends she “plays with them, swims in the pool with them, makes sandcastles with them, and plays in the ocean with them.” Overall, the Inwood Beach Club is a great place to spend a relaxing weekend. Take a vacation without even really traveling that far!

15. + Fun Facts It is the only country club in the metropolitan area to have a beach club on the Atlantic Ocean. It has a beach, two pools, a bar/restaurant, a basketball court and tetherball.
