The words in English sentences are connected to one another in a variety of ways. One common method of connecting words is by using prepositions

Some are one syllable Location : at, by, in, on, near Direction : to, from, down, off, through, out Association: of, for, with, like Some are two-syllable About, against, above, before, except, under Some are compound According to, prior to, instead of, in front of

A prepositional phrase starts with the preposition and ends with a noun or pronoun. Examples – around the town, by the park, outside the pool The word that ends a prep. Phrase is called the object of the preposition

1. After Tuesday, we will have a long vacation. 2. Before the party, you should clean between the cushion on the couch. 3. Jonny went into the hall to find his coat. 4. Everyone, except Bob, is going to the dance.
