RapidVet ® -H Blood Group Determination System for Identifying DEA 1.1 Positive and DEA 1.1 Negative Dogs
2
Kit contains: auto-agglutination saline screen cards, patient test cards, pipettes, stirrers, diluent, instructions, interpretation guide and report card. Shelf-life: 24 months at room temperature
3
If agglutination is observed, STOP the test and perform cell washing procedures before proceeding. If auto-agglutination does not occur, proceed to the next step. Prior to typing, check for auto-agglutination using the card provided in the kit. This card is used for three patients and, after use, should be returned to the kit box.
4
Remove the Test Card from its plastic sleeve. Write the name/number of the dog and the testing date on the card.
5
Dispense 1 drop of diluent from the dropping bottle into each well.
6
Aspirate a small amount of patient sample into a pipette and release 1 drop (50µl) into each well, taking care not to cross-contaminate the wells.
7
Using a NEW stirrer and pressing downward with the flat portion of the stirrer, spread and mix the materials within the entirety of the first well for about 10 seconds.
8
Using a NEW stirrer, spread and mix the materials within the entirety of the second well for about 10 seconds.
9
Using a NEW stirrer, spread and mix the materials within the entirety of the third well for about 10 seconds.
10
Rock the card, using a transaxial motion, for 1 minute. Be sure materials are mixing and “rotating” within each individual well. Be careful not to cross-contaminate.
11
Read the results, noting whether agglutination has or has not occurred in the “Patient Test” well. DEA 1.1+ DEA 1.1
12
After the card has been read, take a digital photograph for a permanent record, or allow to dry and replace in its plastic sleeve as a permanent record.
