A FEW LOCATIONS MAY SEE LOCALLY DENSE FOG. MOTORISTS SHOULD SLOW DOWN...USE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS...AND MAINTAIN A SAFE FOLLOWING DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES WHEN ENCOUNTER FOGGY AREAS. A COLD FRONT MOVING SOUTH OVER THE COASTAL WATERS WILL PROVIDE INCREASING WINDS THAT WILL BE NORTH AT 15 TO 20 KNOTS TONIGHT ON THE WATERS 20 TO 60 NM OFFSHORE. A SMALL CRAFT EXERCISE CAUTION IS IN EFFECT FOR THOSE WATERS TONIGHT..DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY:

19 http://weather.gov Forecast Discussion WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL 303 AM EST THU FEB 17 2005.SHORT TERM (TODAY - SAT)...WEAK UPPER LEVEL RIDGING CONTINUES OVER THE GULF WITH NEARLY ZONAL ALOFT OVER THE AREA. AN UPPER TROUGH FROM HUDSON BAY TO THE GREAT LAKES WILL SWING EAST TO NORTHERN QUEBEC AND NEW ENGLAND BY THE END OF TODAY...PUSHING A COLD FRONT/ LOCATED OVER THE SE ATLANTIC COAST TO THE GULF COAST/ SOUTH OVER THE CWFA TODAY. LIMITED MOISTURE AND LIFT WILL KEEP THE EFFECTS OF THE FRONTAL PASSAGE CONFINED TO A SLIGHT INCREASE IN CLOUDS AND WINDS SHIFTING AND PICKING UP SOME AS THE FRONT WORKS IT'S WAY DOWN THE CWFA. HIGH PRESSURE DROPS FROM THE PLAINS INTO THE GULF COAST TODAY AND THEN SLIDES INTO THE SOUTHEAST U.S. BY SAT. TEMPS THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE CLOSE TO CLIMO AND THEN DIP DOWN BELOW CLIMO UNTIL THEY WARM BACK UP TO NEAR NORMAL FOR SAT AFTERNOON. A FEW LOCATIONS ARE REPORTING SOME LOW CLOUDS OR DENSE FOG BUT EXPECT COVERAGE TO BE LIMITED AND WILL LEAVE OUT OF THE 400 AM ZONES. SHOULD COVERAGE INCREASE WILL HANDLE WITH A NOWCAST OR STATEMENT..LONG TERM (SAT NIGHT-WED)...HIGH PRES OVER THE MID ATLANTIC AND SE STATES WILL MOVE OFFSHORE DURING THE DAY SUNDAY AS A SHORT WAVE MOVES ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS. THE HIGH WILL THEN EXTEND FROM THE WESTERN ATLANTIC WESTWARD ACROSS FL AND INTO THE GULF MON INTO TUE.
