The pictures you have just looked at are by Surrealist artists They belong to the art movement called Surrealism which began in the 1920’s Through their art they displayed their weird and wonderful imagination Ideas were heavily influenced by the subconscious mind- dreams and nightmares Many of the artists used photo’ realistic details They often used the juxtaposition of unrelated objects and backgrounds
